Acadia National Park Engagement Pictures
If you’ve spent more than a few minutes with us, then chances are you know that Acadia is our favorite place on earth. So when a couple asks us about Acadia National Park engagement pictures, we’re picking up our cameras before they finish the sentence. We met Desiree and Wilson at a memorial service. Yup, seriously. We promise this isn’t as odd as it sounds. The man being honored was Wilson’s grandfather, Norman. An amazing man, the day was truly a celebration of his life. An adventurer before his time, he believed in living life outside four walls. Teaching his children to sail, explore the outdoors and have a passion for the unknown, it’s no wonder Wilson became the man he has.
Having grown up in Colorado, life threw him many curve balls and he landed at Arizona State University studying math. This is where Desiree comes in. She’s the girl with a magnetic smile and sense of compassion that perfectly suited her studies in social work. After college they moved to Hawaii.
Together they have become a couple we envy. Free spirited and not particularly tied down to any one location. With the passing of his grandfather, Wilson & Desiree decided to spend the summer season on Mount Desert Island (MDI) where his grandmother would be staying solo for the first time since the Northeast Harbor house was bought in the 30’s. Wilson got a job managing a new restaurant in Northeast Harbor while Desiree made restaurant plans of her own before seeking a full time job in social work (location to be determined.)
With Acadia National Park as one of their favorite spots, it only seemed fitting as the backdrop for their engagement pictures. Their engagement shoot was our first meet up. And it’s safe to say we totally fell for them! We weathered foggy conditions, wandered through chilly rivers and ocean breezes. Enjoying dinner after the session at Blaze in Bar Harbor, we quickly began inside jokes and recognized shared interests. This was followed by kayak dates, a trip to Islesford on the mail boat, lunch at Wilson’s restaurant, Sunday brunch, a quartet concerto, and many other summer events. We enjoyed Acadia National Park together in our shared days off and daydreamed of landing in the same place come fall.
Desiree & Wilson were engaged last winter when they lived in Hawaii. Now we are joining them in wedding planning, and not so subtly urging them to have an Acadia wedding! However, family won out and the wedding will be in Desiree’s family town of Coronado, California. Sadly we are not available for their date. So, we are dedicating this blog post to the friendship we have formed. To let them know how sorry we are to miss out on their big day. And to let them know we will be thinking of them non-stop on September 7th!
We can’t wait for more Acadia adventures together, and hope they can make it to our MDI wedding!
